Ooh la la! The U.S. team's uniforms for the 2024 Paris Olympics have been revealed.
On June 18, Ralph Lauren, the longtime designer for Team USA, debuted the looks the athletes representing the United States will wear for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.
As noted in a press release, the brand's collection "draws inspiration from the dynamic and vibrant host city of Paris and the rich heritage of Olympic and Paralympic sport"—all while embracing a "patriotic spirit reflected in a signature palette of red, white and blue." And while they're both ceremony outfits, the company made sure to still give them their own look and feel.
"The 2024 Opening Ceremony uniform is a distinctly modern take on a tailored look," the release stated, "featuring a classic tailored single-breasted wool blazer with red and white tipping and a striped oxford shirt, unexpectedly paired with a tapered jean and a classic suede buck shoe."
As for the 2024 Closing Ceremony uniform, it continued, it's "defined by a sporty moto-style jacket paired with white denim and a Polo shirt from the brand's custom Create Your Own program and crafted with innovative flat-knit technology that aims to minimize waste from excess fabric."
The organization—which added that "each item in the uniforms is proudly manufactured in the United States"—had some help showcasing the pieces, too. Swimmers Katie Ledecky, Bobby Finke, Jamal Hill and Jessica Long modeled the clothing along with gymnast Shilese Jones, BMX racer Kamren Larsen and surfer Caroline Marks.
Track and field athlete Roderick Townsend, volleyball player Chiaka Ogbogu, sailor Daniela Moroz and fencers Daryl Homer and Lee Kiefer also rocked the ensembles as did breakdancer Jeffrey "Jeffro" Louis, skateboarder Jagger Eaton and triathlete Melissa Stockwell.
And whether you swim, sprint or backflip on over, you'll want to check out these uniforms for yourself. So keep scrolling to see the looks.
“Ralph Lauren has once again created designs that not only capture the essence of American style but also embody the spirit and pride of Team USA,” U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee CEO Sarah Hirshland said in a press release. “As Team USA athletes prepare to represent the United States at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, this iconic apparel serves as a symbol of unity and inspiration for both our team and the millions of fans who will be cheering them on.”
And if you're keeping track, this is the ninth time Polo Ralph Lauren has been the outfitter for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Team.
“Ralph Lauren is profoundly honored to define the look of the American delegation as they represent our country in one of the world’s most celebrated and storied events," Ralph Lauren's Chief Branding and Innovation Officer David Lauren said in the release. "For nearly 60 years, Ralph Lauren has been a pioneer at the intersection of style and sport—the vibrancy, passion and self-expression in sport has been a central touchpoint of inspiration for our brand since the very beginning of the iconic Polo brand in 1967."
"This summer, Paris is the backdrop where fashion and sport will collide on the world’s stage with a global audience," he continued, "and that is an incredibly exciting proposition."
The 2024 Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, and the Paralympic Games will take place from August 28 to September 8. Fans will be able to watch the events on NBC channels and stream on Peacock.
(E!, NBC and Peacock are both part of the NBCUniversal family).
